How should I set up my file?
The DTF printing software prints the entire design, including the background. Submitting an image with a white background will result in the software printing that background, creating a white rectangle around your design. To avoid this issue and ensure a clean, seamless transfer with no unintended elements, use a transparent background.
Preferred File Types for DTF Printing:
While we can print from any image file, certain file types yield better results. For sharp images without semi-transparent pixels, we recommend using:
- Vector files such as .pdf, .svg, and .ai (Adobe Illustrator).
- PNG files with a resolution of 300 dpi.
- PSD files (Photoshop).
Regarding Flipping/Mirroring:
Please do not flip or mirror your image. It will be printed exactly as submitted, so ensure it is in the orientation you desire for the final appearance on the shirt.
How do I press the transfers?
1. No Pre-Treatment Required: You don't need to apply any pre-treatment to the fabric.
2. Temperature Settings for Different Fabrics:
- For Cotton & Cotton/Poly Blended Fabrics: Set the heat press to a temperature between 285 to 290 degrees Fahrenheit.
- For 100% Polyester or any other synthetic fabrics: Set the heat press to a temperature between 265 to 270 degrees Fahrenheit.
3. Pressing Time: Place the transfer directly onto the fabric and press it for 12 seconds using high pressure.
4. Peeling Off Transfer Paper: Peel off the transfer paper while it is still warm or wait for 5 seconds after pressing.
5. Second Pressing: After peeling off the transfer paper, place a thin piece of cloth or craft paper on top of the print and press again for another 5 seconds.
6. Wait Before Washing: Do not wash the garment for 24 hours after the heat press to ensure the transfer sets properly.
7. Avoid Fabric Softener: Do not use fabric softener on the garment with the transferred design.
8. Storage: Store the printed garments in a dry, cool area.
How long do orders take to process?
Orders will be processed and dispatched within 1-3 days after approval and/or optimization of all artwork. If Labjet identifies any issues like ghost images, semi-transparencies, or pixelation in the images, we will promptly contact the client to communicate our concerns and request higher quality images. DTF transfers will then be printed and sent out within 3 days of receiving the updated graphics.
What if my transfers are defective?
Clients have the option to return transfers that are considered defective. This includes transfers that don't adhere properly to fabric, exhibit cracks within one to two washes, or are misprinted. All returns must use the original packaging, and items for return must be in new, unused condition. Any visible wear makes the item(s) ineligible for return. LABJET's responsibility ends once the transfers are handed over to the carrier. We are not liable for refunding or reprinting orders damaged or delayed by the carrier.
Items Ineligible for Return/Reprint:
- DTF Transfers with color shifts due to provided print files.
- Pixelated prints resulting from subpar graphics provided by the client.
- Prints with grammatical or design errors originating from the client's submissions.
- Prints featuring a white outline or halo due to semi-transparent pixels in the original artwork.
- Transfers damaged during courier handling.
- Gang sheets with overlaps, ghost images, or other irregularities approved by the client for printing.
Returns will not be accepted beyond 30 days from the date of purchase, and items must retain their original packaging to be considered for return.
